Getting to Mexicali
Driving from the West
Take I-8 to the East (at any intersection with I-5, I-805 or I-15), then exit on 111 South and you’ll be less than 15 minutes from Calexico and the border with Mexicali.
Driving from the East
Take I-8 to the West, then exit on 111 South and you’ll be less than 15 minutes from Calexico and the border with Mexicali. If you’re driving from farther East, I-10 intersects with I-8 just after Arizona City, AZ.
Driving from the North
Highway 111 South passes right through Palm Springs and also intersects with I-10 at Indio, CA.
Walking Across
You can park your car in Calexico and walk right to Mexicali.
By Air
The only commercial flights landing on Mexicali are domestic flights, so if you’re already in México and plan to get to Baja California’s state capital you’ll have no problem. If you arrive by plane to Tijuana (commercial flights on a domestic basis only) there are buses to Mexicali every three hours.
