About Mexicali

Even though Mexicali is located in a desert, the vicinity is well known for its agricultural developments throughout its valley and its multiple industry complexes in  the city. The beautiful state capital hosts different museums, and is famous for its Baja style Chinese food restaurants. Mexicali also hosts seasonal events like bullfighting, theatre and an annual progressive rock festival with artists from all the globe, among other important events.

A few hours from Mexicali is the port of San Felipe, one of the Gulf of California’s main vacation spots with beautiful sunny beaches. This coastline area of the Mexicali municipality is also important for its fishing, where species gather to widen the area’s food supply. And for camping and hiking, Río Hardy is not far away and you can’t miss the beautiful sightseeing at Laguna Salada. Visiting the state capital area is as fun as visiting just about every other place in Baja.
