Getting to Tecate
From the US
Take I-5 or I-805 South (805 is in San Diego county), then take 94 Highway East, where you will travel 35 miles before the intersection with Highway 188 southwards, which you should take in order to get to Tecate. If you come from the East, I-8 intersects with Highway 94 between Boulevard and Live Oak Springs, the intersection with Highway 188 is just a few miles passing Potrero.
From Tijuana
Take the toll road at Otay Mesa (30 minutes) or Carretera Federal 2 following East through Boulevard Díaz Ordaz, about 45 minutes after passing Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez (dam).
From Mexicali
Take Carretera Federal 2 towards West (1 hour 15 minutes).
From Ensenada
Head to El Sauzal (just a few miles north of Ensenada) and take Carretera Federal 3 in the East direction, about two hours later you’ll be in Tecate.
